NEVER mind 'Britain's Got Talent' — so has Bratton Clovelly . . . A version of the national talent show will be brought to the village under the title 'Bratton's Got Talent' on Saturday, June 21 as a fundraiser for Boasley Cross Primary School. Talented residents from across the Okehampton area can audition in front of three local judges who will take the place of the well-respected judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, judges on the ITV series of Britain's Got Talent. The event, organised by the primary school fundraising committee, takes place at Bratton Clovelly Parish Hall at 7pm. There will be three age categories: under 10s, 10 to 16- year olds and over 16s. A large amount of hopefuls have already entered the competition, including musicians, dancers, acrobats, line dancers and even comedians. Secretary of the committee and music teacher at the primary school Lucy Sizmur said: 'We wanted a project that would bring the community together in an exciting way. We have all ages and all sorts of talents taking part — but we still have room for more.' The winning prize for each contestant from each category will be a trophy. The competition is free to enter. Entrance to attend the evening is £2.50 for adults and £1 for children. There will be a barbecue available from 6.30pm at the hall. All proceeds from the evening will go to the primary school. Anyone who would like to register their act should contact Lucy on 07830521176.
