A SECTION of the A30 has been blocked by an overturned lorry since the early hours of this morning (Friday).
Police were alerted shortly after 2am on Friday, October 28 to a collision involving two vehicles on the A30 westbound at the Woodleigh junction, Cheriton Bishop.
The A30 is currently closed between the Woodleigh Junction and Whiddon Down and a local diversion is in place via Cheriton Cross — Crockernwell to Whiddon Down.
The vehicles involved were an articulated lorry, which had overturned onto its side and blocked the carriageway, and a Mercedes estate car.
The road was initially closed in both directions with assistance from the Highways Agency. Fire and ambulance services also attended.
One person was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance and another was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Exeter.
Police say there is likely to be traffic disruption until the lorry is recovered from the scene.
