AN end of an era came this week for Tavistock Swimming Club when Amy Warnett, its longest serving member, left to take up her new position as Swim School co-ordinator at Worcester Leisure Centre.
Amy has been a club member for more than 13 years. She excelled in her role as ladies' captain, has represented the club at many competitions including the Plymouth Cities, Open Water Swims and has taken part in the annual Plymouth Breakwater challenge.
Club chairman Sheila Radgick for the club said: 'We were delighted when, having achieved her qualifications, she went on to coach many swimmers over a three year period. Her enthusiasm and expertise will be sadly missed.'
In recognition of her commitment and expertise, Amy was presented with an engraved piece of glassware by Sheila, who thanked her for her loyalty and hard work and wished her well in the future.
Tavistock Swimming Club is busy preparing for its exciting 20th year anniversary celebrations, which will take place on Saturday, June 19 at Meadowlands, when past and present members will be invited to join us.
All new members are welcome, call Sheila Radgick on 01822 618272.
