Several trees at Tavistock Cemetery are now 'likely to die' after they were attacked by someone using a drill and poison. According to Devon and Cornwall Police, vandals have severely damaged the trees by drilling holes deep into their roots in the past week.
They then poured a poisonous substance down the holes in order to kill them. Investigating officers are now appealing for help in tracking down the person or persons responsible.
A statement released on the Tavistock Police Facebook page reads: 'Trees attacked at Tavistock Cemetery: — Some trees have been severely damaged and are likely to die after holes were drilled into the roots of trees and poison poured into them at Plymouth Road Cemetery.'
