Tavistock College students have been celebrating their A-level and BTEC results.
Associate principal Tristan Forster said yesterday as students found out their grades: ‘It is with great pride that we share this day with our year 13 students. Their entire sixth form time with us has been fraught with confusion, lockdowns, remote learning, online parent evenings, mini assessments etc... but these are all challenges that they as a year group have faced together, alongside, of course their teachers.
‘We were excited to be able to put on their graduation and proms for them after everything they have been through, but we are even more excited to be able to share these grades with them today.
‘The rigour of examination courses is always tough, and getting tougher however, over the last two years with the goalposts moving so frequently in terms of how and on what these young people were to be assessed on, what these students have achieved has been amazing.
‘The achievements and outcomes of this year group replicate the efforts that they and their teachers have gone through to get where they need and want to be. We are incredibly proud that so many have been able to access their further education, training or employment opportunities due to these results and whatever they choose to do next we wish them all the best of luck and ask them to stay in touch!’
