Tavistock Country Garden Show returns this Spring Bank Holiday to share the love of gardening and all things green-fingered.
In the heart of the ancient stannary town of Tavistock, the pannier market and its beautiful surroundings once again play host to the annual Country Garden Show, ever popular since beginning as a festival over 10 years ago. Set against the backdrop of the historic town hall and guildhall, an array of horticultural and botanical talents come together. Now firmly established as one of the most popular garden events in West Devon, visitors can enjoy display gardens and stalls showcasing high-quality plants and handcrafted creations.
As gardening specialists and conservationists from over the South West happily impart their knowledge. Whether looking for inspiration for the outdoors, or, a touch of nature to bring indoors, there’s something for everyone. To add to the experience, there is a plant crèche keep your purchases safe whilst you explore and enjoy all the show has to offer in the centre of Tavistock’s vibrant market town, including the many choices of delicious food and refreshments from local suppliers.
Together with entertainment — including a miniature pony named Boo — we look forward to welcoming you for what promises to be a great day out for all the family. Among exhibitors taking part for the first time are neighbours and business partners Hayley Perring and Lauren Bright of the Inside Garden, a shop specialising in indoor plants in the centre of Tavistock.
‘The theme of our show garden is “just one more” so we are busy planting up kettles and toasters with plants. We try to reuse everything, our furniture in the shop is second or third hand,’ said Hayley.
This year’s show takes place over the Spring Bank Holiday on Sunday and Monday May 28 and Monday 29 from 10am to 4pm. For enquiries on exhibitor space availability visit www.tavistock.gov.uk website, or email [email protected]. Parking at Bedford Car Park, The Wharf and Riverside (coach parking at Bedford Car Park).
