TAVISTOCK Lions Club welcomed its new president Tony Welsh at the end of June who will be taking over the reigns from Jan Meakin.

At a recent social gathering of club members and partners, retired Tavistock College teacher Tony thanked Jan for her excellent year of service to the club and community, saying that he was looking forward to leading the club for the next 12 months.

The other main officers of the club are Lyn Roberts, 1st vice president; Brenda Moyse, secretary; Ken Shield, treasurer; Steve Hipsey, activities chair; Hywel Edwards, community services chair; Lyn Roberts, membership chair; Alan Wroath, youth officer; Paul Congo, health and safety officer; John Noblet, social organiser and Steve Grummitt, press officer.
