A TEAM of 22 swimmers from Tavistock Swimming Club competed in the Devon Interclub Gala at Central Park, Plymouth. Despite being only small in number, all the swimmers produced great results with top six placings in 13 events.

Kathryn Stacey was second in the womens' open 100m freestyle event, while Cameron McGurk was fourth in the aged U15s 100m butterfly, Gareth Williams in the mens' open 100m Butterfly and Michael Best was also fourth in the mens' open 100m breaststroke.

Kirsty Best in the women's open 100m breaststroke, Kathryn Stacey in the women's open 100m freestyle, Kieran Rookes in the U15s 100m freestyle and the the mixed open medley relay earned fifth places. Five sixth place finishes were achieved by Luke Stephens in the U11s 50m backstroke, Chloe Marks in the U13s 50m backstroke, in the U15s age group by both Kieran Rookes in the 100m breaststroke, Cameron McGurk in the 100m backstroke and Gareth Williams in the mens' open 100m freestyle.

These swims were supported by great swims by the remaining team members to produce the final team result of 10th and a total of 10 personal best times.

The swimmers who took part, with the number of personal best times in brackets, were: James Anderson (1), Gemma Arundel (1), Emily Attfield (1), Tilly Barnes, Mike Best (1), Kirsty Best, Holly Brimble, Harriet Edwards, Matt Edwards, Jake France, Hannah Greep (1), Megan Groom (1), Chloe Marks (1), Cameron McGurk (1), Kieran Rookes (1), Kathryn Stacey, Luke Stephens, Elizabeth Teague, Beth Thompson, Olivia Walker (1) and Gareth Williams.
