TAVISTOCK Visitor Information Centre will be reopening to the public tomorrow (Thursday).
Organised and managed by Tavistock Heritage Trust, the VIC, based in the historic Court Gate building in Bedford Square, is the focal point for tourists and local residents.
The trust intends to open up the VIC on Tursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 1pm and will be operating on a one person in only basis, with a volunteer outside the VIC and one inside.
Geri Parlby, chairman of the Tavistock Heritage Trust, said: ‘We are delighted to be able to reopen the VIC and support the town as more and more visitors start to return. However, it is thanks to our amazing volunteers that we have been able to make this decision. Not only have they offered to come in to man the VIC for three mornings a week, but they have also been helping to install all the necessary screens and other protective equipment to ensure everyone working in the VIC and the visitors who come to see us feel safe.’
