MID Devon teamwork was tops on Saturday at Eggesford Pony Club's Triathlon — Mid Devon's teams took three first places and one second to finish the season in fine style, leaving the mini girls unbeaten all year.
In the mixed minis - 9 years and under - Charlotte Rowe outclassed the field of 32, winning by almost 500 points, with the best swim and best run.
Antony Geering had the best boys' shoot and came fifth overall, andJessica Mortimore put in a solid performance helping the team to first place.
The mini girls' team of Scarlett Geering, Lydia Svensson and Lauren Fuller went into the final phase in second place but all produced PB swims to overtake the Devon and Somerset Pony Club and win the class.
Scarlett improved her swim by eight metres to take best swim and first place. Lauren came third in the class and Lydia fifth.
Despite their lack of experience at this age group, the junior girls' team of Rebecca Rowe, Katherine Manchip and Ella Edmonson put in an amazing performance to come second.
Rebecca produced another fine swim to come fourth, Katherine improved her swim by nine metres and it was great to welcome Ella for her first ever competition.
The senior girls' team of Sarah and Laura Gomersall, Georgina Geikie and Jess Trerise dominated their class from the outset, winning by more than 1,000 points, with Laura having best shoot and Sarah best run.
It was a stunning team performance with Sarah, Laura and Jess having PBs in all three phases and Georgina a PB swim. Individually, Sarah came first, just ahead of Laura with Georgina in fifth place and Jess just out of the ribbons in seventh place.
