THREE sisters from Okehampton have donated their long locks to the Little Princess Trust to provide real hair wigs for children with cancer.
Sisters Megan (left), Ebony (centre) and Leah Letchford all had at least seven inches cut off their hair on Easter Sunday.
The sisters, aged 15, nine and 12, have also raised more than £600 in sponsorship from friends, family and others in the community. The money will be be split between the Little Princess Trust and FORCE cancer charity, which is providing chemotherapy treatment at Okehampton Hospital.
‘It doesn’t make much of a difference to us to have our hair cut, but it does make a huge difference to someone suffering from cancer,’ said Megan. ‘It is really nice to think of it going to help them.’
Their mum Julie added: ‘The girls all said that it was nice to think that they have help children who are going through a tough time. A huge thank you to everyone who kindly donated.’
