THE next lectures at?the Wharf in Tavistock will take place on Monday, October 27 at 11am and 2pm and will include a talk about the history of Tavistock Canal and John Taylor, the 19th century mining engineer and entrepreneur who initiated the building of the canal.

The talk will be by Dr Ann Pulsford and in the afternoon at 2pm, historian Kevin Dickens will be talking about the Normans in Tavistock.

The talks are £5 and £4 for Friends of the Wharf and £2 for students.
