THREE 'Iron Maidens' are taking on the ultimate challenge, all to raise money for Bridestowe Primary School. On August 17, Amy Scrivener, Pippa MacDougall and Jo Pritchard will be taking part in the UK Ultimate Triathlon event in Shropshire to raise money for the school. The triathlon is a full 'Iron Man' distance, and the ladies are entering as a relay team. Amy, reception and Year 1 teacher, will have to swim 2.4-miles in open water in under two and a half hours. She will then hand over to Pippa, who teaches music and has two children at Bridestowe Primary. She will cycle 112-miles in less than eight hours, leaving Jo, whose daughter attends the school, to run a full marathon of 26.2-miles in whatever time is left of the 17 hours in total they are given to complete the challenge. Not content with completing the challenge, the trio are all gunning for personal best times in all three disciplines. The Iron Maidens are taking on the challenge for Friends of Bridestowe School, which plays a vital role in helping the school to fund items that benefit the children in both work and play, assisting with the purchase of little extras like interactive play equipment, interactive science toys and state of the art music software enabling the whole school to produce their own music videos.
