SPORTS lovers young and old are being invited to a free taster session of bowls at Okehampton Simmons Bowling Club.

The session on Sunday, July 7 offers a free taster session for adults of any age and young people under 16 accompanied by an adult.

All equipment is provided and the club is keen to support people in enjoying the skills and fun of the game. To take part, competitors must wear flat shoes or trainers.

Stuart Lord from OCRA said: 'Bowls is a great outdoor game that is very skilful.

'While it might have an image of a more elderly game it is very popular with people of all ages and especially the young.'

The sessions runs from 2pm to 5pm.
