DOLTON and District Twinning Association welcomed 46 of their friends from Amfreville, Normandy, over the Easter weekend. This is the 26th year of family exchanges between the two communities and the events are as popular as ever, with many children and teenagers taking part, as well as old friends. The programme included a ploughman's lunch on Friday, a trip to Exeter on Saturday and a celebratory supper on Sunday, with a special commemorative cake made by Pete's Home Bake in Hatherleigh. There was still plenty of time to spend with host families, which is the heart of the twinning exchanges - to see 'how the other half lives'. Dolton and District Twinning Association covers a large area, encompassing Merton, Beaford and Winkleigh as well.
