WEST Devon U10s became district champions after a hard fought win against East Devon who had previously always won the title. Having lost the toss and been put into bat West Devon score 258-10 which never looked enough on a fast Exeter pitch and outfield. The top batting pair for the West was Tracey and Payne who put on 27.
East Devon started well in reply and raced to 256 but then the pressure started to tell. Farnham (2-9) and Worth (1-10) came back and took important wickets and then Horn (4-9) bamboozled the batsmen with his leg spin and with a direct hit from Pamplin and an excellent pick up and throw from Payne East Devon subsided to 237-10 leaving the West deserved winners by 21 runs.
