PUPILS at Lamerton Primary School left their school uniforms and dressed in mufti last week to collect money for their link school in Uganda.
The initiative was taken by pupils in response to a recent visit of Mary Namuyingo, a teacher from the Mubende District of Uganda who spent two weeks at the school as part of an exchange visit.
Much valuable information was shared during her visit and the children enjoyed meeting her.
For the mufti day children dressed in colours of the Ugandan flag. The day was deemed a big success.
Previous headteacher at Lamerton Ann Mitchell travelled to the link school in Uganda this week, taking with her pencils, notebooks, sports equipment and many other much needed utensils bought from the money the school raised.
The next event Lamerton School will hold is the Fab Fry Up this Saturday (October 20) from 9.30am to noon in Lamerton Village Hall. The staff and pupils hope many people will support them and enjoy a tasty breakfast.
