LAMERTON travelled to table toppers Dobwalls with both sides so far unbeaten in the league. They got off to the best possible start when Zak Beesley and Paul Cowling combined to test the keeper leaving Steve Gibbings to sidefoot the ball home.

Shortly afterwards Beesley again put through an excellent ball which split the defence and allowed Gibbings to score his second. Lamerton continued to dominate play but half time saw the score remaining at 2-0.

Dobwalls came more into the game in the second half but Lamerton were sharp on the break. Gibbings was denied by the home keeper from a hat trick before man of the match Beesley smashed in the third following good work by Cowling.

In the end, however, the Lamerton back four remained solid for the rest of the match and Kev Swift dominated in midfield to inflict Dobwalls? first league defeat for 12 months.
