OKEHAMPTON Cats Protection has received a £330 cheque from Waitrose thanks to the green tokens that have been put in the community matters slot by local customers.

Cats Protection branch co-ordinator Pat Sawyer said: ‘We would like to say a big thank you to all of you, your friends, family and others shopping in Waitrose that put your green tokens in the relevant slot.’

The money received will go towards helping all the cats currently in the organisation’s care who are waiting to find new homes.

Cats Protection has to neuter, micro-chip and vaccinate each cat or kitten that is in their care before they go to their new home.
