TWO members of the Dartmoor Rescue Group will be taking their dogs for a rather longer walk than usual this spring, as they prepare to tackle the South West coast path for charity. Peter Swaine and Terry Bumford of the Tavistock Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team will be setting off from Minehead in April to walk the entire 630 mile long path, aiming to finish at Poole in Dorset six weeks later. The route includes ascents and descents of 35 thousand metres, equivalent to climbing Mount Everest four times from sea level! Peter and Terry will be raising funds for the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (Tavistock) and the Children's Hospice South West. If anyone would like to sponsor them or assist in any way, they should contact Peter Swaine at DSRT (Tavistock), Abbey Rise, Whitchurch Road, Tavistock or Judy Pride of The Children's Hospice at [email protected]">[email protected]
