WE would like to apologise to David Munnelly of Tavistock for the problems he has been experiencing regarding his recycling collection as outlined in his letter last week (February 20).
Generally across the borough, collections are very good so we are concerned by the lack of service outlined by Mr Munnelly.
Crews are required to return recycling containers to the same location as they were left for collection or as near as possible.
Under no circumstances should containers be dropped, thrown or left in a position to cause obstruction.
Crews have been instructed to replace food containers and box lids into the recycling boxes.
If weights are left, these should also be used to secure empty containers.
We will work with our contractors to remedy the situation.
With such a large area to cover, we rely on our residents to let us know when problems do occur so I would like to thank Mr Munnelly for taking the trouble to highlight the issue.
The quickest way for residents to get in touch is by emailing [email protected]">[email protected] or calling 01822 813600.
