Woodford Colts U15?s 3
Tavistock Town U15?s 0
ONLY 10 men made themselves available for this match and these players played with full commitment. In the first half McCall had two free kicks which the keeper failed to hold first time but the follow-up just wasn?t quick enough.
Doyle and Lyle had two shots just wide of the post and Mark Webber produced an excellent save.
Woodford scored just before half time but Tavistock came out fighting in the second half.
McCall and Bray both had great runs, the latter of which ended in a free kick to Tavistock which McCall put just over the bar.
Meanwhile at the other end despite the excellent play by Kelly, Smerdon, Court and Johnson, Woodford Colts were gaining the upper hand. Webber?s goalkeeping was close to his best, and he tipped a free kick over the bar but the extra man was beginning to tell and Woodford scored twice more.
Despite this Tavistock Town continued to attack and Lyle and Doyle both had shots within the last few minutes.
Unfortunately they both went wide but this was a performance to be proud of and the manager had to award his man of the match to the whole team. The opposition?s choice of man of the match went to Mark Webber.
