JUNIOR Life Skills, a West Devon Borough Council event for ten and 11 year olds, where engaging ‘real-life’ scenarios are used to teach important safety lessons, took place last week.
Children from primary schools in West Devon had the time of their lives when they took part in the action-packed sessions at Tavistock Town Hall and Okehampton Parklands Leisure Centre.
Around 500 Year Six pupils learned vital new skills to keep themselves and others safe.
They also learned how to be good citizens during the event which was completely free for those who took part.
Scenarios for the Junior Life Skills were set by the council’s partner organisations including Devon and Cornwall Police, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, RNLI and Devon County Council.
