Together with Chappell (23) he added 89 for the second wicket, taking his side to the brink of victory. He was finally out 9 short of a deserved century.
A 25 from skipper Richardson completed the victory as Whitchurch romped home with 6 wickets and 5 overs to spare.

On Sunday Whitchurch had a convincing win away at Chulmleigh.
Whitchurch batted first with Roe setting them on their way with 51. He was ably supported by a fluent 32 from Hall and a streaky 25 from Tamblin.
Lea, Kelly and Wilmott took two wickets each for the home side as Whitchurch posted a total of 185-8 declared.
In reply, Chulmleigh were soon in trouble, due to good opening spells from Wood (2-13) and Harding (2-33).
Glover with 24 was the main contributor for Chulmleigh until he was run out.
Tamblin (3-5) and Richie Freedman (2-10) cleared up the tail with tree stumpings to Kevin Freeman, Whitchurch winning by 122 runs.
