Chagford 1
East Allington Utd 0
FOLLOWING consecutive defeats, Chagford were faced with a must win game
against a much improved East Allington side. The home side started as though they were 'still in the changing-room' but having weathered the opening exchanges, they started to put together a few passes. Their first effort came when Williams saw a clear shot well gathered.
The game then became more even though East Allington raided well down their left flank. Chagford keeper Saul Scarry was not really troubled until the 28th minute when he had to dive smartly to his left, pushing the ball round the post. Ten minutes later and Miller's crisp strike was turned round the post at the other end by the visiting keeper.
With first half minutes running out, Miller and Robin Crowther-Smith combined well but the latter's shot clipped a post to run wide.
Scarry had seen a long cross come off one of his posts moments before so the teams were creating chances.
The second half was even more combative but the hosts looked better as they upped their passing game. Even so, they had Emanuel to thank for a superb challenge that denied a shot on goal. The midfielder seemed to be all over the pitch, setting a fine example to his team-mates.
Botham, who was solid at the back for Chagford, picked up a yellow card.
On the hour mark Chagford deservedly took the lead. Chadwick's corner was not effectively dealt with by the East Allington defence and Williams threw himself bravely in for a shot from 16 yards which deflected wickedly off Robbie Miller and into the net.
With East Allington having to press forward more the home defence saw more action but, equally, gaps appeared in the visitors' defence.
Chagford's Davis screwed a shot wide, when set up by Miller and Allington's 'keeper again pulled off a good save from Williams.
Not wanting to disrupt the pattern of their team Chagford's used no subs though, through an administrative error, de Cruz could not come on for Crowther-Smith when needed.
l This weekend, Chagford 1sts entertain lowly Waldon Athletic. Kick-off at 3pm.

Chagford Reserves 2
Teign Village Res 0
THIS was a vital win for Chagford Reserves though Teign Village are bottom of the table.
The home side should have scored more but, in the end, second placed Chagford were indebted to veteran midfielder Gary Mortimore for the victory.
With just two matches to go promotion is not a settled issue for Chagford and points will be needed from both games.
