Tavistock Hire Centre FC 4
Hooe Rovers 2
FOURTH division Tavistock Hire faced third division opponents Hooe Rovers in the cup and had to make a last minute change with manager Shaun Moloney having to go in goal.
Tavistock made a sloppy start when Hooe took the lead after only 30 seconds, the ball was played through and Shaun Moloney was slow to come off his line and the ball was poked over him.
In a scrappy first half Tavistock hit the bar twice before finally equalising in the 40th min after a corner from Mark Wallace was headed home by Dave Wilkinson.
Tavistock started the second half strongly and took the lead when Tom Scott smashed home from 10 yards after Zac Beesly had hit the bar. Sam Saunders made it 3-1 when he made a jinking run down the left and poked home.
Tavistock made the game safe when a flowing move started by Dave Wilkinson ended up with Zac Beesley curling home from the edge of their area.
Hooe Rovers battled on and got a late disputed penalty after John Francis had shoulder barged Rovers striker off the ball. The pen was slotted home but it was too little, to late. Tavistock Hire now face Steampacket FC in the next round.
