A WOMAN in her 50s, believed to be from the Peter Tavy area, died at the weekend and a man, presumed to be her husband, is in a critical condition after an incident at a diving centre in Gloucestershire.
Paramedics were called to the National Diving and Activity Centre at Tidenham in the Forest of Dean on Saturday.
Police said the woman, who has not yet been named, died at the scene and her husband was airlifted to the decompression unit at Derriford Hospital. As the Times went to press he was said to be in a stable but critical condition.
Gloucester police said the pair were diving with a friend who is an instructor.
The Health and Safety Executive and the coroner have been informed and police are investigating.
