THE village of Bridestowe held its own memorial service on Friday November 11 to show respect and gratitude to members of the armed forces.

Led by the Rev John Davies, members of the community and children from Bridestowe Primary School paid their respects at the service.

Among those in attendance was West Devon Borough Cllr John Hockridge.

Year 6 pupils Amelia Barwood and Sam Kerwin placed the school wreath on the village war memorial in the churchyard of St Bridget's.

Children then recited the poem 'In Flanders Fields' by John McCrae and planted crosses into the ground.
