YOUNGSTERS from the Okehampton area with an interest in theatre were among those taking part in a drama workshop led by London-based theatre company Complicite.
The drama workshop was organised by Dartmoor Community Theatre company MED Theatre as part of their latest project, Myth, which encourages young people from the area between the ages of 14 and 25 to create their own performance work.
As well as being for young people already involved with MED Theatre, the workshop was opened up to other young people, including those from the Okehampton area.
Clive Mendus from Complicite led the workshop at Manaton parish hall and introduced the young participants to the physical elements of theatre as well as exploring how using their bodies and working closely together as a group could add new dimensions to performances on stage.
'The emphasis of the weekend was to learn new techniques, but also to have fun,' said MED Theatre's Connie Smith.
MED Theatre has organised a second weekend workshop with Clive on December 13-14, so those who missed the opportunity could still have the chance to join in.
