Duchy Premier Torpoint 0 Lamerton 1 LAMERTON secured thier place in the Duchy League for another season after this fine win in midweek against Torpoint.  The visitors had to soak up a lot of pressure for large periods of the game but the Lamerton back line stood strong with centre half pairing Chris Wearing and Steve Lake controlling everything that Torpoint could throw at them. It was Steve Lake who became the hero for Lamerton when he volleyed the ball into the Torpoint net from a corner in the 85th minute and sent the visitors home with all three points. Duchy Premier Lamerton 1 St Cleer 0 LAMERTON earned another hard earned win against a St Cleer side who are fighting to avoid relegation. The home side began the game on the front foot but took the lead in the 15th minute. Mike King delivered a superbly weighted free kick from the right edge of the St Cleer box to an unmarked Jamie Montgomery, who smashed the ball into the net from six yards out. St Cleer became more of a threat as the first half progressed and played some neat football, however, they failed to create any attempts on target. With the wind at their backs in the second half St Cleer began to push forward in the search of an equaliser. Lamerton keeper Pete Daniel was called into action early on, producing a fine save down to his right hand post from a fierce shot. Lamerton soaked up a lot of pressure as St Cleer pressed to make a breakthrough. But defensively the hosts were outstanding, with centre half Steve Lake instrumental in helping Lamerton keep another clean sheet and more importantly gain another three points which now sees them sitting third in the league table.
