DEBUTANT Dan Jones scored the only goal as Stoke Climsland earned a hard fought 1-0 win away at Camelford.
The visitors suffered a setback when their most dangerous player in the early exchanges Rob Cleveland suffered a nasty knee injury, and he was replaced by Darren Wickett.
The first real chance fell to Camelford after the Stoke goalkeeper Dom Gerry fumbled a long a ball into the box but an an oncoming forward shot straight at covering defender Mike Baker and the ball deflected harmlessly over the bar for a corner.
This sparked the away side into life and the winning goal came shortly after this scare. After some good interplay in the middle of the park Stoke midfielder Tom Savage made a surging run down the left wing into the box before squaring the ball to 16 year old Tom Cleveland; with some clever touches to evade his markers Cleveland but before he could pull the trigger new summer signing from St Dominick Dan Jones slotted the ball through the oncoming keepers legs.
Stoke went on to control the rest of the first half but could not add to their lead with Ian Cook and captain Tom Savage both coming close.
In the second half Camelford could not make their pressure count and wasted four glorious opportunities to draw the scores level.
The final whistle came as a bit of a relief to the Stoke players as they hung on to secure a vital three points and their second successive away win.
