THERE were two events that members of Bere Alston Trekkers (Bats) took part in last weekend.  The first was the Dig Deep Siblyback 10k which is a fast, mildly undulating two lap 10k race on the hard pack cycle path around the picturesque sheltered Siblyback Lake.

The Bats ran well despite the hard downfall of rain that occurred mid run.

The other event was the Powderham 10k where a lone Bat who was making her club debut ran an excellent event.  This 10k route starts on the field in front of the castle, goes up the driveway, along the footpath and out onto the road taking in wonderful estuary views. Runners continue to climb to the forests behind the Castle before a cross-country track leading back to the terraces. Donna Luckham ran a great time of 58.36.
