FIVE members of Bere Alston Trekkers ran a wet and muddy Haldon Heartbeat on Saturday.

The eight mile plus course started at a misty Exeter racecourse and followed trails through Haldon Forest and private heathland.

The event, organised by Haldon Trail Runners, raised money for HeartSwell South West, whose patron, BBC Radio Devon presenter Judy Spiers, started the race.

For the three women runners this was their first trail race.
