FIFTY one members of Tavistock Sir Francis Drake Bowling Club went on tour to Weston-super-Mare where they played four games over a period of four days.
They played at Clevedon, the home club of David Bryant, world champion from 1966-1972; he played competitive bowls at the highest level for more than 40 years.
They also played at Burnham-on-Sea, Wellington and on the way home North Petherton, where the team played on an indoor green as the outdoor green was closed because of bad weather.
The tour was successful and throughly enjoyed by the club members. The club are already planning their tour in 2016.
The outdoor season ended yesterday (September 23) in their last game against Bere Alston.
The outdoor season starts again in April 2016. However, the indoor short mat season has now begun and runs through until April next year.
