Devon seconds A
LEWDOWN seconds travelled to Sandford, outside Crediton, with high hopes of victory.
After losing the toss the visitors were put into bat on a good wicket but were quickly reduced to 11-2 by the tidy bowling of Fryett. Ollie Brown and the returning Rob Mutch repaired the damage to take the total to 40, before both fell in quick succession.
Brandon Horn hit an entertaining 30 but Lewdown’s batsmen failed to bat patiently and were all out for 112 with 18 overs left.
In reply Sandford rarely looked troubled and while some missed catches and run out opportunities towards the end of the innings would have gained Lewdown more points it was unlikely to have affected thee outcome with Sandford reaching the total for the loss of one wicket.
