TAVISTOCK seconds entertained Cornwood on Saturday and recorded their second victory from two games.
The home side won the toss and elected to field. Marc Lewis and Mark Hopkins opened the bowling and immediately created problems for the Cornwood batsmen. Wickets fell at regular intervals, Lewis taking 4-38, and with new player, Ryan Burke, introduced into the attack and taking 3-28, Cornwood crumbled to 102 all out. Former player returning to the team, Richard Edlmann, took two for nine. Tavistock’s reply stuttered at 28-2, but 15 year old Will Scott-Munden and Darren Chappell, another returning player, steadied the ship to take the score to 69.
A small wobble at 74-4 was ended with the remaining runs being scored without further loss. Will Scott-Munden finished on 58 not out, showing his increasing maturity
