MARY Tavy's Cameron Carpenter-Warren, won the Starcross swim for the fifth consecutive year.
The two mile open water swim, from the jetty at Starcross, down the Exe estuary and out along the Exmouth sea front, saw a record entry of 28 swimmers. The annual event which is swum without wetsuits, saw two young competitors pull out this year due to the sea temperature.
In the ladies competition, Yvonne Carpenter-Warren finished second behind Exmouth team mate Tara Dudley, who this week is swimming the English Channel.
