THIS comprehensive win by Bere Alston sees them move up into third place in the league — behind leaders Torpoint and second place Callington Town.

Paul Simpson hit one in straight from a corner kick to give United the lead before James Elliot put the game behind doubt with four goals in succession. Another goal by Simpson and a reply from the visitors made it 6-1 at half-time.

Further goals in the second half by Chris Bray, Alan Johnson, Graham Galway and another by Simpson to complete his hat-trick made it a good day at the office for the Bere boys.
