TAVISTOCK footballer Chloe Bassett having undergone trials for women’s Superleague club Watford has successfully been signed up for the club.
Chloe started playing in Tavistock’s boys team at the age of four, having been trained by Jim Lothian and Mark Wickett. It was Sue Hammond, who on recognising Chloe’s talent, encouraged her to join the Argyle Academy where she played for Plymouth Argyle Ladies, progressing to Tottenham Hotspur and now to Superleague club Watford.
Chloe, aged 25, has completed a sports’ bio-medicine and nutrition degree at Cardiff University and a master’s in sports and exercise in Exeter. She has just qualified as a PE teacher and currently works as a sports’ coach in Hertfordshire.
