Launceston Cup
(after extra time)
Gunnislake 5
Dobwalls 8
THERE were no lack of goals or entertainment on Sunday when Gunnislake entertained Dobwalls in this preliminary round match.
When referee Tony Rogers blew the whistle at the end of the 90 minutes the score remained 5-5 with Gunnislake striker Kieran Jasper hitting a hat-trick and goals from Andrew Brown and Simon Kelly.
Unfortunately for the home side, who had put so much effort in the game, the extra period proved the deciding factor as tiredness crept in and the visitors scored three times to progress to the next round.
Gunnislake FC secretary Mike Kinger said: ‘It was a great effort by the team and in the end tiredness took its toll. We beat them last year in this competition so today they had their revenge.’
