St Dominick 1

THE visitors’ cause was not helped by having a man sent off in this physical encounter — with both sides contending for runner up spot in the league. However, it was St Dominick who took the lead, thanks to an early splendid effort from Mike Axworthy. Further attempts by Craig Brenton and Lee Donovan could have extended the lead but both went just wide. After a quarter of an hour the home side equalised through Kieran Prescott and the scores remained level at half-time.

Just after the hour Callington went in front after Dan Ashman raced away before putting past the advancing Brodie Cole in the St Dominick goal. It was then the visitors had Jon Scholes sent off.

Callington’s Jamie Rowlands buried the game with a third goal for the home side. Torpoint are way out on top of the league while St Dominick are second and Callington third on equal points, although the Saints have a game in hand.
