Jago was no match for Golf A’s Whitley, with Davies finding himself on the end of a strong finish from Golf A’s Turnbull, as Golf A stormed into a two frame lead.
The lead was soon stretched to three frames as a solid Pope dominated his frame against Con C’s Davey.
Con C’s Cleave put up a good show against the lively Buchannan, but it was Golf A’s Buchannan that took the key balls to make it four for his side.
The only consolation that Con C could take from this uninspiring performance was the ‘bye’ frame from Golf’s missing man to save the whitewash.
Golf B moved back up to sixth in the league with their second win of the season as they came from two down to power past West Devon B. With no sign of things to come, West Devon were flying high as they went two up with hard fought wins for the Rich brothers — John and Roger.
Then the Golf B ‘worm turned’ with an inspired showing from Appleton over Bluett, backed up by a rampaging Dee who demolished the normally reliable Hooper.
The deciding encounter was a nervy affair with Golf’s Congo drawing on all his experience to eventually take out Smith to secure the win for his team.
