Caradon ladies 1
TAVISTOCK started strong, scoring two early goals. With a quick ball from Amy Headon to Laura Armstrong, Jamie Bulbring passed to Becky Lamb to score the opener. Soon after Jamie Bulbring deflected the second goal in a short corner into the roof of net.
Caradon came back hard, perhaps a little too feisty, resulting in their top scorer being sent off with a red card. However, Maddie Jones, Tavistock’s goalkeeper stayed on her toes saving several strikes on goal. Tavistock pushed on with determination allowing Sarah Law to score their third goal, when she took it wide of the goalie and hit it straight into the goal.
The home defence were put under pressure when Caradon were awarded a short corner but Laura Colwill saved the ball mid air on the goal line.
Caradon were awarded a penalty flick but player of the match Maddie Jones rose to the occasion with confidence and made a superb save by deflecting the ball off her right stick.
George Patterson in defence for Tavistock made an excellent pass through the centre of the pitch to forward Becky Lamb; she went one on one with the Caradon keeper and was unlucky not to score.
Caradon then scored their only goal off a deflection of a Tavistock stick.
Jamie Bulbring scored Tavistock’s fourth goal in the second half. This was shortly followed by a fast strike from Laura Armstrong as Tavistock were awarded their fifth goal.
Tavistock finished with a final opportunity to score their last goal as Alice Lamb slipped the ball to captain Janice Scott who was unlucky not to sweep it into goal.
