THE Lambs poor run of form continued with another disappointing display at Kimberley Stadium. Although they had a fair share of possession over the 90 minute they never really created many goal scoring opportunities.

The visitors got off to the worse start conceding a goal in the first minute, when Dimitri Kanaki went pass the two central defenders to shoot home via the body of the diving Andy Meeds.

In the 15th minute Meeds made a great save to deny the Ashes from increasing their lead.

The Lambs first meaningful attack came in the 25th minute when Ian Rooke headed wide of the target from a Johnny Morris free kick. Rooke was again off target when he fired over from 18 yards with only the keeper to beat. Minutes later a Toby Clark header came back of the post, but Andy Meeds made a fine save to deny Matt Cusack from converting the rebound.

Four minutes into the second half the Ashes increased their lead when Maddison was brought down by Andy Meeds. The keeper was shown a yellow card, before Toby Clark rifled home the spot kick.

The Lambs should have reduced the arrears, after some fine work and cross from the left by Jarydd Kelly, but Ian Rooke's header missed the target from four yards out.

Saltash made the points safe with 11 minutes remaining when Kanaki put Sam Hughes in on goal, to coolly plant the ball past Andy Meeds.

The Lambs tried in vain to get a consolation goal but too no avail, with Saltash coming out deserved winners in a game that lacked any real quality.

At this present time the team is lacking in enthusiasm, and confidence is low. The players need to get out of this rut, and realise that they must get back to the standard of play they produced in the opening games of the season. Injuries have upset the balance of the team over the past month, but it is hoped that the return of a few key players this week, will lift the spirits in the camp, and the team start producing the quality football we know they are capable of playing.
