AS the game started the heavens opened and in heavy rain both teams played some superb football — the ball being passed around with speed.

Only good defending by both defences kept the score 0-0 until the 20 minute mark and a corner was headed home by Dan Follett.

The lead lasted a minute and a Millbrook corner was headed home with a bullet header.

Bere responded and a Will Westlake free kick was superbly turned around the post.

Now both teams went for broke.

The rain did stop for a while but returned with a vengeance and the pitch now was a ploughed field with Bere controlling the game but not putting in a killer blow. They paid for this as one careless ball was picked up and a good through ball was raced onto and fired home.

Bere now camped in the Millbrook half but Millbrook's keeper was at his best while his defence stood firm as time ran out for the visitors.
