Chagford 1 Morchard Bishop 3 CHAGFORD bowed out of the Bill Slee Cup at the first hurdle, despite playing some fine football for the first third of the game. Robbie Miller claimed a well taken goal in the 14th minute but from there it became a half of possession and wasted chances. Tom Pengelly, in goal, dealt comfortably with any Morchard forays that did come his way. Even so, he could not deny Piper's equaliser on the stroke of half-time. The Bishops came out for the second half with a great deal more determination than their hosts and, within ten minutes, added another brace of goals. Piper doubled his tally and Schofield put the game all but out of reach of Chagford's grasp. On both scoring occasions, poor defending was the problem as Pengelly was woefully exposed. Key for Chagford was Jamie Mallett whose determination was an example to all. n Chagford now face a tough match at Lyme Regis this weekend.
