AWAY to Chelston and Kingkerswell on a lovely sunny afternoon Lewdown travelled with only nine players.
The visitors lost the toss and were asked to field. Nick Smith got off to a great start with a wicket maiden in the first over. With more superb bowling from Henry Harbron (5-0-19-4), Nick Smith (5-0-15-1), Kian Burns (5-0-36-1), Clive Marais (7-0-43-2) Lewdown bowled out Chelston for 182 with 14 overs remaining.
Lewdown went into bat with Nick Smith and Clive Marais opening and lost the wicket of the latter before lunch. Kian Burns joined Smith at the crease and set about chasing the set total. Great batting from this pair ended when they were eventually out for 45 a piece; it brought Stanley Furber (34 not out) and Sam Spry (19) to the crease.
Henry Hasbron scored the winnng runs with 18 overs left. It was a great team performance from the whole Lewdown team.

LEWDOWN opened the batting with Johnny Marais scoring a fine 20 runs partnering Tom Hughes.
Kian Burns and Tony Geering batted well together both scoring 32 for Lewdown as the team finished on 147 all out.
After tea Lewdown kept Shaldon to a low scoring start with Kian Burns producing figures of 4-0-15-1 along with Clive Marais (9-3-34-2), Tom Hughes (7-2-22-1), Andy Vernon 6-2-26-1.
However, in the last few overs Shaldon scored 151 with five balls remaining.
