ROWAN Power of Halwill Junction, became the latest member of Dragon Taekwondo Academy martial arts club to join the ranks of dan grades.

Rowan, aged 14, has been training regularly for the past seven years at his Halwill club, alongside his mum Hannah, a second degree black belt, and younger brother Josh.

Rowan had a three hour grading, which included assisting the other students with their grading. perform eight patterns, sparring and self-defence, and write a 500 word history of Taekwondo.

Rowan has also got a track record at national championships, winning several gold and silver medals over the past few years.
