SOUTH Tawton Primary School hosted the inter-schools’ tag rugby tournament held at South Zeal Recreation Ground on April 25.

The event was organised by OCRA in conjunction with the school while the referees and their assistants were volunteers from Okehampton College.

Eight local schools attended the event — the hosts and teams from Okehampton, Chagford, Bridestowe, Lydford, Exbourne, Northlew and North Tawton — making up 15 teams in total.

PE co-ordinator at South Tawton School Rachel Everett said: The 150 children all had a fantastic day, displaying brilliant sportsmanship and team work during each match.

South Tawton had a particularly successful day, winning both the cup and shield finals.
