CHLOE Bassett from Tavistock has been named Welsh Premier Ladies' player of the year and also finished top goal scorer in its league.
The talented Chloe started with Tavistock Thistles as a youngster and captained the Tavistock girls team in the U11 age group — remaining captain throughout her four years with the club.
In that time she led the team to various tournaments around the country and they came runners up in a major tournament and runners up in the league on two occasions.
Chloe was selected for the Plymouth Argyle School of Excellence and went on to play for Plymouth Argyle ladies before setting off to UWIC in Cardiff to study sports biomedicine and nutrition. Chloe will further her studies at Exeter University taking her MSc.
Last week Chloe travelled down to Tavistock to join a local ladies team in the Son Rise Cup, having just been crowned Welsh Premier women's player of the match in a play off that put her team through to the UEFA Women's Champions league to represent Wales.
Her proud dad Charles Bassett said:?'Chloe is an inspiration to all female youngsters in sport and stands as a role model to all those who want to reach their goal in whatever sport they choose.'
